Bug fixes are ongoing and annoying

Version 1.2 fixes a game-breaking bug that probably ended the game around day two for literally everyone. Dangit. Not sure how the wrong variables ended up on the those gates; the game had been played to completion before, so I guess I accidentally broke it fixing something else.
